Releasing January 2011!

A Tried and True Philosophy After Fifteen Years in Development
Award-Winning Songwriter, Music Publisher, and Product Designer
Team Up to Produce an Ingenious Project that
Combines the Law of Attraction with the Visual Energies of Scrapbooking

The Lifeboard
Follow Your Vision. Realize Your Dreams.

Harvard Business School Conducted A 10-Year Study on Goal-Setting,

3% Of The Study Group Had Clear Written Goals And Earned On Average, 10 Times As Much As the other 97% Combined

It’s been fifteen years since the creators of this project first started “Lifeboarding,” in their own lives…and boy-oh-boy, do they have success stories to tell!  Now, they’re taking the techniques that got them to where they are today and sharing them, for the first time, with you.

What if you could choose the most rewarding path for a career change by using an extraordinary technique to visualize your new position? What if you could find your soul mate, but this time…your real soulmate!? What if you could check off all the goals on your wish-list with time to spare for setting new ones? What if you could morph into the person of your dreams?  The Lifeboard: Follow Your Vision. Realize Your Dreams (Chronicle Books; January 2011;  by Sue Shifrin-Cassidy, Linda Blum Huntington, and Eva Adrienne Anderson is a tool where your deepest desires and wildest dreams can become your reality. Part motivational workbook, part creative project, The Lifeboard combines the appeal of such books as The Secret, the international publishing sensation that captivated over four million readers, with the fun of scrapbooking—a craft that, according to Craft & Hobby Association figures, one in three households across America (or about 40 million families) enjoy. Containing a journal, a full-color Lifeboard, and all the starter materials and guidance you need to make it meaningful, this beautiful gift-to-yourself box is designed to activate, magnify, and accelerate the Law of Attraction—a universal principle summed up as “You are what you think.” Avid “Lifeboarders” who credit their practice with playing a major role in their success, Sue Shifrin-Cassidy, Linda Blum Huntington, and Eva Adrienne Anderson take positive thinking to a new level. They created The Lifeboard as a tool for focusing energy and developing a visual personal action plan for your life. “Seeing is believing and achieving.” That’s a glimpse of The Lifeboard’s eye-opening, mind-shifting and life-transforming potential.

“Lifeboarding,” also called “vision boarding” or “dream boarding,” has long been used by celebrities, sports figures, and business leaders. With The Lifeboard, people from all walks of life can use this technique to visualize their future and reinforce their goals while creating a uniquely self-reflective work of art. After identifying and prioritizing their goals through journaling, it’s time to get crafty! Dig through photo albums and stashes of mementos, clip pictures and quotes from magazines, collect favorite affirmations and poems, and bring them all to the board. Place the images, objects, and words that represent you on the nine key areas: Success, Love and Marriage, Children and Creativity, Friends and Travel, Career, Knowledge and Education, Family and Health, Wealth and Prosperity, and, at the center of everything, Harmony. After decorating your Lifeboard, sit back and soak in the visual effects. As Sue, Linda, and Eva can attest, the experience will expand your self-awareness, reveal exciting possibilities, and lead you from your past into a promising future and your personal pinnacle.

Simple in concept yet profound in result, The Lifeboard will resonate with all generations, people getting married, professional athletes who want to reach the next level, successful business people who want to take their business public, recent graduates ready to take on a new career path, and all kinds of creative souls and fulfillment seekers- For inspiring examples of its effectiveness, consider the three remarkable women who collaborated on creating, designing, and writing it:

    * Sue Shifrin-Cassidy developed the concept of combining a “vision board” or “dream board” with the ancient concept of Feng Shui color placement to create the Lifeboard. She has used Lifeboarding to help her visualize and realize her dreams as a songwriter, whose many hits include Tina Turner’s “Show Some Respect,” Heart’s “Strangers of the Heart,” Smokey Robinson’s “Show Some Respect,” and Al Jarreau’s chart-topping “So Good.” She has also used Lifeboarding to guide her successfully through many challenges and adventures. Sue was one of twenty American songwriters to go to the Soviet Union in 1998 in the much heralded Music Speaks Louder Than Words. With her husband, singer/actor David Cassidy, she has written and donated songs for causes, including “Stand and Be Proud” for Los Angeles in the aftermath of the 1992 riots, garnering over $2 million in donations, within the span of five day, to help rebuild the battered city, and “Message to the World” to benefit child victims of the Kosovar war. She is the co-founder of EAT’M, Emerging Artists and Talent in Music, and the founder of KidsCharities, a non-profit global organization devoted to raising funds for Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Special Olympics Nevada, City of Hope, and other children’s charities. She is also an instrument rated pilot—one of only a small percentage of women pilots in the world—and enjoys traveling, thoroughbred breeding and racing, and scuba diving. The author of one previous book, The World’s Greatest Email, Sue lives in Florida with her husband, and is the mother of a nineteen-year-old son, Beau Devin.

    * Linda Blum Huntington co-created the original Lifeboard with Sue Shifrin-Cassidy fifteen years ago, and continues to apply its visual goal setting techniques to her work in the music industry and beyond. She began her career as a music publisher with Arista Music, where she launched the career of Grammy Award-winning songwriter and pop superstar Diane Warren and was instrumental in hits for many other artists—Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Pat Benetar, Debarge, and Alabama among them. She later became the co-founder and co-owner of a multi-million dollar independent music publishing company, Emerald Forest Entertainment, where she helped launch the careers of Macy Gray, Marilyn Manson, and Sophie B. Hawkins, and co-produced two John Waite CDs. Most recently, Linda secured a major recording contract with Motown/Universal records for teenage artists Berrett and Harrison, to be released in Spring 2011. She is also the co-founder of Ever Wonder Records and “Science You Can Sing To,” a children’s music brand currently working with the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. The proud mother of a college freshman and competitive race car driving son, Linda has been married for 23 years to her entrepreneurial husband. They live on a farm in Virginia that was once an image on Linda’s Lifeboard.

    * Eva Adrienne Anderson is a Product Developer and the product designer for The Lifeboard. She began her career as the co-founder and president of Children’s Clubhouse Crafts, Inc., which began as a direct marketing monthly craft club for children and evolved into a product development company specializing in children’s crafts and games. It’s signature product, Crunch-Art®, has won numerous awards, from Family Fun Toy of the Year in 2002 to PLAYTHINGS Toy of the Week and the Parents Choice “FunStuff” Award in 2010. She is also partner in Anderson Sommers, LLC a cross-category / cross-industry product development and merchandising consulting firm specializing in developing and placing products in Specialty Retail Channels, Business-to- Consumer Catalogs, as well as Television Home Shopping Outlets. She is currently President and co-founder of East Coast Girls, Ltd., whose first offering is The Lifeboard. She is now an avid Lifeboarder and lives in Saratoga Springs, New York, with her husband and two children.

*Kate and Neil Wright (Husband and Wife artists) are the members of the Lifeboarding team who were brought on to interpret the artistic vision of The Lifeboard.  They created the original artwork on the Lifeboard Board, Box and Book.  They also are responsible for the website design and manage all the social media and have been integral to the overall success of the project.

Thank you Kate And Neil for your Vision! Bravo!

Bob Gruen is one of the most well-known and respected photographers in rock and roll. From Muddy Waters to the Rolling Stones; Tina Turner to Madonna; Bob Dylan to Bob Marley; John Lennon to Johnny Rotten, he has captured the music scene for over forty years in photographs that have gained worldwide recognition.

Shortly after John Lennon moved to New York in 1971, Bob became John and Yoko’s personal photographer and friend, making photos of their working life as well as private moments. In 1974 he created the iconic images of John Lennon wearing a New York City t-shirt and, standing in front of the Statue of Liberty making the peace sign - two of the most popular of Lennon’s images.

Bob has worked with major rock acts such as Led Zeppelin, The Who, David Bowie, Tina Turner, Elton John, Aerosmith, Kiss & Alice Cooper. In 1989, he documented the epic trip to Russia of the “Moscow Music Peace Festival” featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue and Bon Jovi. For many years Bob was the official photographer for the New York New Music Seminar, covering dozens of aspiring new bands in the course of a summer week.

As chief photographer for Rock Scene Magazine in the ‘70s, Bob specialized in candid, behind the scenes photo features. He toured extensively with the emerging punk and new wave bands including the New York Dolls, Sex Pistols, Clash, Ramones, Patti Smith Group and Blondie.

This seminal body of work reflects a profound commitment and long-standing personal friendship with the artists. His wealth of personal experiences and uncanny memory provide the most illuminating and comprehensive histories of rock youth culture.

His work has been published in magazines and documentaries around the world, and he has had books of his work with John Lennon, the Clash, Sex Pistols, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and New York Dolls
.
In June, 2004, in London, Bob was presented with MOJO Magazine’s prestigious Honours List Award for Classic Image.
